Background

Jenny Zenner is the founder of Seeds Yoga, bringing together her practices in positive psychology, fitness and mindfulness. Raised on a fourth generation farm in Idaho devoted to sustainability, she carries the heritage of planting healthy seeds with extensive experience delivering wellness. Competing as a 400 meter hurdler at Washington State University, she coached youth and high school track teams and obtained certification as an addictions counselor, working in outpatient treatment centers. She then earned an MBA and MEd in sport and exercise psychology from the University of Virginia where she worked as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach, led the student athlete peer mentor program and consulted for the NCAA with colleges across the country to institute substance abuse prevention programs.

Jenny's introduction to yoga was in college with a Jane Fonda sun salutation video her Mom had at home. It wasn't until after business school that she enjoyed her first live yoga class as a relationship breakup cure, compliments of her dear friend Allison Parry Leach in Charlottesville, Virginia. There Allison coined the phrase "detox and retox" during their cherished girls’ night out evenings of Hilary Steinitz's Jivamukti-inspired vinyasa classes followed by sangria, apple-tinis, fried cheese fritters and spiced chocolate truffles. Hilary’s practice delivered physical exertion and inner awareness followed by social bonding and culinary indulgences, a truly delightful union.

Upon moving to Seattle, Jenny completed her yoga teacher training with Tracy Weber through Whole Life Yoga in the viniyoga tradition. Her original foray into sport psychology evolved into an embrace of positive psychology along with an ongoing study of eastern traditions (Thich Naht Hanh, HH the Dalai Lama, Robert Thurman, Pam Perugi Marraccini and Tara Brach). The union of these ideas coalesced into what is now Seeds Yoga.

Prior to founding Seeds Yoga, Jenny consulted at the Hartman Group, a leading wellness consumer insights firm where her client list included the International Spa Association, Nike, Tyson Foods, Stonyfield Farms, Nestle, exhale, Bartell Drugs, the Canadian Tourism Commission, and the Organic Trade Association. Additionally she was the director of marketing for Atlantic Coast Athletic Clubs and Kinetix Living (employer-paid weight loss program for Starbucks, Pizza Hut, KFC, Taco Bell, and AMC Theatres) and led the global rollout of Fitness by Precor across the Hilton, Embassy Suites, Doubletree, Waldorf=Astoria, Hilton Garden Inn, Hampton Inn and Homewood Suites properties. She continues to serve on the advisory board for the Network for Business Innovation and Sustainability. In as many ways as possible, her efforts have been dedicated to the triple bottom line (healthy people, profits and planet) creating accessible offerings that support positive living.

In her current chapter as a mom to toddler twins, she’s calling on all her resources to be mindful in as many moments as she can muster. Through Seeds Yoga, she delivers the practices to you to thrive through the landmines of life. Whether it be dating, marriage, parenthood, mental health, or career management, Jenny delivers practical, logical, non-esoteric, hands on, in the trenches, tell it like it is insight to garden the good in you.
